Dear Internet,

Today I have to be at the dayjob, which isn't so bad because it pays the bills. I have a tasty lunch today - roast beef sandwich with lots of lettuce and cilantro!

It is snowing today, but not like it has been in other places in the states. I am jealous and want more. They get big, thick, fluffy snow. We get a millimeter of flat dry snow that falls over the space of 6 hours.

It has been fun watching the inside humidity graph on our weather station: it varies between about 4% and 14%, and you can point to events like boiling a pot of water for pasta without the lid (14% for about two minutes!), and doing a load of laundry, or starting the wood stove (zoooooom down to 4%).

I forgot to post a link earlier to my latest story: Too Many Tears. (It is silly Elfquest fanfiction, but I do like writing vignettes with Honey.)

I have gotten caught up on Torn World karma for January, and I'm excited about the muse fusion tomorrow.

Let me know, dear Internet, how you are doing, and what the weather is like where you are. Write soon!

Be well,
Ellen

Please, take my snow! We got way too much for my area to handle, and now they're calling for more tomorrow night.

Oh to be back in New Jersey, where they can handle snow...

Dear Ellen,

School--specifically algebra involving trinomials--is kicking my butt today. I have managed, in eight hours, to correctly answer TWO problems out of 54.

To answer your question, the weather here is typical. At night, it hits 50-ish, and we wish we'd remembered to turn on the heat. During the day, however, it hits 70-ish, which, in rooms facing the sun becomes 80-ish, and we wish we could justify the cost of turning on the AC. It is perfectly lovely weather to be outside, which makes math (done indoors on the computer) all the more unbearable.

I drew some flowers yesterday during church (cherry trees were blooming!), but otherwise have done no real art in weeks.

Be well,
Kat

Dear Kat,

I hope that the war against math turns in your favor!

I am deeply envious of your warm weather, and can only imagine cherry trees blooming. In February, I wonder if anything here will ever bloom again.

I have missed your art!

Love,
Ellen
