Triggers?

Okay, so we're working on ratings for Torn World, and looking at a new potential character who's got rape in their history. Naturally, this isn't the kind of thing you can just "leave out" of a character sheet when it influences them currently.

So my question is: when does rape/child abuse content become 'triggery?' Does mentioning it like this qualify? Does stating without detail that it happened qualify? How specific or 'on-screen' does it have to be before it does?

I'm trying to decide what needs warning tags, and what needs filters, and what is fine public without flags.

I've been lucky enough that this has never been a problem for me, so I need some outside input. I will screen comments, so you may speak frankly!
