Sea Monster Month is now behind us! We got two new stories (and one older supporter's only piece in the theme made public), 7 new pieces of artwork, and six new poems on the theme. You can check out all the sea monster goodness here: http://www.tornworld.net/fiction.php?id=6

The comment contest has closed for the quantity portion of the award (the winner will be announced next week!), but you may still nominate any comment you feel is worthy of recognition - it doesn't have to be on your work, just any comment at the site that you felt was inspirational, helpful or just awesome. Contact me with any comment you'd like to nominate! (You may nominate more than one, too.)

Ordering for our coloring book and anthology are once again open! http://www.tornworld.net/publications.php

Family Ties and Torn Skies is now available at Amazon! Also, Smashwords has approved the title for distribution, so it will become available (within 2 weeks) at Barnes and Noble, Amazon, Apple, and a bunch of other places. Woot! I also now have an author page at Amazon, although not all of my work is listed there yet because they've got author-limits on most titles, and I usually put other authors in before me.

There are free e-copies available if you are interested in reviewing this for me (on Smashwords, Amazon, or on your own blog), and I will be ridiculously grateful if you would! Request a copy here: http://www.tornworld.net/familyties.php

Likewise with the EMG-Zine anthology. I have already decided to make PDF copies available. They will not be available through Smashwords/ebooks, because they are SO visual and stripping to text would be pretty crazy-making, but I will have pdfs with pictures available soon, and would love to trade those for reviews.

In plans for the day:

MAIL BOOKS!!
write some words
Mail art.
Babysit for Nephew E.
Pick up husband (truck tire still flat, carpooling!)
Gym?
Programming (some emails out to clients now...)
Improve my elance portfolio (like, actually add things to it...)

And I leave you with two finished pieces from this last Sketch Fest:

Thanksgiving has been very nice. Frustrating at points - especially with the whole breaking of EMG-Zine, and we won't talk about the hours resetting my router settings because the new receiver thought I REALLY, REALLY wanted network security* - but nice.

EMG-Zine is working fully again, and is actually much improved; I've got autoformatting on the articles now, so we don't have to add p tags to everything.

A notice that if you've ever considered a subscription to EMG-Zine, this is a GREAT time. $40 gets you a copy of the 2007 anthology (90 pages chock full of business and art advice - 3 walkthroughs, 25 articles, packed into one gorgeous book), a year's subscription, a year of advertising, and, if you order before January 1, you get December for free! A serious deal for $40, and you can purchase it for someone else. Makes a great holiday gift! http://emg-zine.com/sponsors.php

A look at the anthology cover! )

Tomorrow is the last day to submit 'ox' (or cow) themed work for January! http://emg-zine.com/submitart.php

Woo! The end is in sight!

My earlier gleeing was for successfully finding the right fonts so that I could print the ENTIRE rough draft of the anthology. Oh, YEAH. This is gorgeous. This one blows last years anthology not only out of the water, but out of the whole YMCA. Dude. Melissa did a fabulous job on this one. I just need to mark it up, make some various corrections, gather up some high-res files, and zip it up for print.

All three of EMG'S 2009 calendars are up for pre-order! AND, there's a discount for pre-ordering - $2.00 off! AND all the 2008 and older calendars are marked down $5 off, because I have to make room for more! (And because I found another box of them in the connex last week... doh!)

I have gathered up the work for the next DFFH coloring book - I just need to figure out a cover (I have an idea), and get it off to the presses. Would be nice to have that done sooner than later, what with turnaround time.

Lunch now.
