Week One

It's been a week.

A loooooong week.

I am going genuinely stir-crazy, sitting in this chair.

I am just now to the point where I previously would have said I was having a "bad back day" (how little I knew...) and I want to doooo things again, because it isn't actively hurting, and I am impatient to get stuff done.

(I'm not, no one has to waggle fingers. I am taking it very, very easy. It is counter to my nature, but I am doing very little. It is very boring.)

I've can be comfortable with the laptop again, which is nice, and I've got my not-a-book about halfway edited. I've also been able to do some promotional stuff, though it didn't happen before national coloring book day, as I'd hoped. You do have until August 6th to take advantage of this sale:

I also got my Patreon rewards out for August! I have new tiers now, and have brushed off my latent Sketch Tarot project. I'll be releasing a card a month, and for as little as $3/month, you can get a high resolution copy to print and color, and I'll give you some of my thoughts and process about each card. If you are a patron at this level (or above) for 24 months, you'll get a free basic deck when it's eventually finished.

Capitalism aside, I am improving. And posting this finally, having started it about 6 hours ago...

I noticed a tickle in the back of my throat Sunday evening, just a suspicious little dryness. I survived my parent aide stint at the preschool Monday morning feeling just a little spacey, but felt more and more awful as the day progressed. I actually took a nap when I came home, which is shocking for me. It went rapidly downhill from there, and I went to bed at 8 after an evening mostly spent drowsing on the couch.

I slept nearly 12 hours (not exactly un-interupted), and feel remarkably better this morning.

Today, I plan to do a whole lot of nothing. There's a load of clothes in the dryer to fold, and otherwise, I intend to watch a lot of TV and drink a lot of tea. Maybe I'll work on some artwork - I am in sight of the finish line on the next Coloring Alaska coloring book, and if I can wrangle it, I'll have two other books ready for reprints by the end of the week, too.

I got no writing or artwork done all weekend, though I did get through a few various house chores. I also missed dance class last night, to my chagrin.

I do have a sale up at my Etsy shop:

The discount code is good to the end of the month!

I think we will watch Tinkerbell now. Or maybe How to Train Your Dragon. And it's time for another cup of tea!

The astute among you may have noted that I didn't post a 20 Days special yesterday - I was pretty swamped working on a big coding project and playing toddler jungle-gym. Fortunately, there are more than 20 weekdays in October, so we're still on track. And today, you get FOUR bundles, all of them fairy-themed. :)

Limit 1 per customer the first day they are offered!

Fairies Bundle #1: $22 (5 cards, 5 magnets[top], 6 stickers[bottom], 2 bookmarks[tassel to be added to second!], 1 mirror-backed keychain, 1 button, 1 mini-tote)

Fairies Bundle #2: $22 (5 cards, 5 magnets[top], 5 stickers[bottom], 2 bookmarks[tassel to be added to second!], 1 mirror-backed keychain, 1 button, 1 mini-tote)

Fairies Bundle #3: $20 (5 cards, 4 magnets[top], 5 stickers[bottom], 1 bookmark, 1 button, 1 mini-tote)

Fairies Bundle #4: $20 (5 cards, 5 magnets[top], 6 stickers[bottom], 2 bookmarks[tassel to be added to second!], 1 button, 1 mini-tote)

Check the main bundles page for others that are still available! (One Halloween, one Angels, one Dragon, off the top of my head... plus calendars and a special price on all 3 EMG-Zine anthologies!) http://ellenmillion.livejournal.com/1403112.html

(And in lovely news, we are just $10 from these sales covering the big hosting bill that is due this month, which covers two years of hosting [though not my domain registrations]! Horrah! Another two years of Sketch Fest server space!)

So, I haven't made cards in several years now, but felt inspired today to tromp out to the connex box to check on my envelope and cardstock supply - and lo, I DO have some supplies left. (Chances on the holiday card offer are now at a whopping 17.5%!)

So, if you'd like to order some cards, this is your chance! They won't be made and shipped until after Thanksgiving - I've got some major Sketch Fest coding to finish before Friday. These are 4.25 x 5.5 inches, medium-weight cardstock with an unprinted envelope, and the image has a slight border. They are blank inside. You may request plain white or speckled gray cardstock, or I will use whatever I think will work best. I have rather fewer plain white envelopes, so you may get a speckled gray envelope regardless.

Pretty much anything in my personal gallery or my Torn World gallery or my Sketch Fest gallery are fair game.

But behind this cut, I'll put of my more popular holiday card designs:

Holiday Designs...  )

You may also be interested in Willow Mother, or an Angry Owl, or a Super Guppy, or a happy Summer Bubble Fairy. Photos and abstract paintings may also be available - ask to find out if I have a high-resolution version of it. (Most, I do.)

Cards are $3 apiece, or 10 of one design for $15.00. You may mix and match 10 cards for $20.00.

Shipping is $6.00 for up to 20 cards, flat rate priority mail. $12 gets you unlimited cards. Ask for a quote for first class shipping or international, please - I'll try to find you the best deal!

First, the commercial announcements:

The Fantasy Art Shop's new incarnation is going away! All oracle decks are on clearance, and the clearance page items have been reduced again! And by reduced, I mean, holy jeebuz, these things are cheap. I want them gone, so if you want $5 babydolls and $4 large prints, new oracle decks at half the price, and coloring books starting at $4, this is your chance to do some seriously discount shopping. I can have them shipped within a few days, so they should get there for Christmas very easily. My husband also convinced me that I didn't need to keep *quite* that much tea for myself, so there are very limited supplies of Oolong, Peppermint, Chai and Jasmine teas available... I am also tucking freebies in with every order.

(Note that there are still 2 decks of the Pathfinders Deck left, but I am not permitted to discount them, and I'm not very worried about getting rid of these last few... if they don't sell at the site, I may gift them later, or sell them through local stores.)

Find it all here: http://fantasyartshop.com/clearance.php

Please consider spreading the word! :)

Sketch Fest was a delight this month - be sure to weigh in on whether you'd like a second Sketch Fest THIS month, or two NEXT month: http://ellenmillion.livejournal.com/1133516.html

Also, thanks to our fabulous Sketch Fest sponsors, you have earned some more site improvements - let me know what you'd like them to be! http://www.ellenmilliongraphics.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=3175

We had 33 artists and produced 157 sketches: http://www.ellenmilliongraphics.com/sketchfest/sketchfestwall.php?date=8

I finished one of my pieces from Sketch Fest, and am tickled pink by the results:

Space Vixen (sold)

I am definitely doing more in this style, and have actually started coloring another pencil piece using this method. If you are a PA artist, I've got it up at the forums for WIP assistance: http://www.ellenmilliongraphics.com/forum/

And if that's not enough creative material for you, I have a new story up at Torn World: Lightning Strikes

What, exactly, is causing problems at the City of Lights? Emeroma and Oranaan try to figure out the cause of the mysterious accidents plaguing the city. (It's short, and light, for such a heavy subject - I'd love your comments on this one! Here or at the TW site!)

I hope your Monday is lovely!

The February issue of EMG-Zine is up!

Submissions at the Fantasy Art Shop are still open, BUT I am implementing an immediate policy change: I will not be reviewing rejections in depth. It's just eating too much time, and I'd rather turn these around more quickly than drag my feet pointing out the whys and wherefores. I may do one or two if I have time, but not the every-piece policy I've been following. There is new work going up!

Discounts galore at the shopping end of things: Latex ears are down from $15 to $10! All lipbalm is on sale for $2.50, with the five-pack for $10. Dragonfae Oracle has been marked down to $25. All 2009 calendars are down to $15 (older calendars are $12), and there's a fabulous bundle with a calendar of your choice, a choice of the oracle decks, a coloring book, a bookmark and five cards for an amazing $39.

AND, there's a coloring book bundle - pick any 5 for $25. This includes the four titles on pre-order! (Which I am putting up right now...)

http://www.ellenmilliongraphics.com/fantasyart/emggroup.php?id=34

Now I gotta go fill orders and take a shower and scurry to work.
