Hm. I may disappear!

We have freezing rain today. Nasty, nasty stuff. Jake is home from work and I've canceled everything I had planned for the day (and maybe the week...). It's quite likely we'll lose power and/or Internet. We've got plenty of food and water, though there are a few key things we're unfortunately out of (flour! How can we be out of flour?!). Schools are canceled, as are most jobs...

We've got a lovely fire in the woodstove now, and just finished a tasty breakfast of sausage pancakes. I'm charging my laptop batteries, and phone, etc.

In other news... um... I probably have some, but can't think of it now.

That sounds pretty nasty (the weather part, not the staying home with lovely husband part).

I've never experienced freezing rain but it doesn't sound like something I'd like..

On the other hand I've never experienced snow either, and I think that's something I would like.

Yeah, we're braced for Winterpocalypse here as well. Campus is closed, so Orion doesn't have to go to work today (which is good; I was awfully worried about him having to drive in, with the highways as they are). Water cans are full; got food, got candles, laptop is all charged up. We even have an emergency generator if we need it.

The only thing is that we haven't done the Thanksgiving shopping yet, but heck, we have caribou in the freezer and there's no reason why we can't have a nice caribou roast if it comes to that.

maybe I'm just wierd but I kinda like when a huge storm comes and kinda leaves you stranded at home:) though it is more fun if you can still have the net and some power:) I now live out in the country with uber slow net(ours is attached to a TREE lol!) but I really like it...we don't have any storms as of yet, but now I understand why it's sooo awesome having a wood stove:)
I'm gonna be super happy sickly possitive and say have fun!!:D
