I was floored today to find this product at Fred Meyers:

They honestly, actually, really, truly are marketing Old Yeller dog food. Big Disney logo and everything.

What were they thinking? I want whatever they were drinking in that marketing meeting.

Ugh, I know! I was so shocked I did the exact same thing - snapped a pic with my cel phone, because I knew no one would believe me otherwise.

It's something you'd find on one of those joke product pages. But really! In real life, I saw it!!

Oh, so THAT was why the dog was shot.

I never ever heard of the movie other than in random mentions on the 'net that assumed everybody knew it.

I told my husband ... He thinks it is a lame idea too.

I think the bonehead in marketing should be shot for this ... I have no idea how someone could think this was a sound and great label to slap on a product ...

What's next, 'Where the Red Fern Grows' Dog Biscuits or Pet Insurance?

um, just so everyone's aware - Old Yeller was a book before it was a movie. Just sayin'. Very poor marketing idea.
