Urgh. (More computer woes)
May. 9th, 2011 09:45 amOkay, so plans to either reformat or replace this computer are more urgent than previously realized, because InDesign, Adobe Reader and Photoshop will not open whatsoever. This rather confirms my suspicion that a major Adobe update was the cause of the hastened demise of my laptop. Adobe, you FAIL and right now, I hate you a lot.

Date: 2011-05-09 06:48 pm (UTC)If that doesn't work, I got nothing other than uninstalling the whole program, reinstalling it, and then not allow it to make that particular update. Which can be hard to do- some programs want it all or nothing on updates.
Good luck. I hate computers some days, even though they'll have to pry the keyboard from my cold dead hands!

I'm not a Microsoft apologist by any means, but Windows 7 is a slick piece of work. Also, if you've got any old software that won't run well under platforms newer than XP (rare, but it happens with some _old_ programs), I can point you to a really good free virtual environment, and you can use the windows xp serial on your old laptop to install xp on it. May not be an issue for you, but I know it's a sticking point for some.
