Why are all baby clothes pastel? Seriously, I'd love to put her in a black ninja suit... some of her wiggle-shots would make perfect ninja photos.

This photo is for my sisters (blood and law!):

I have social/public things coming down the pipeline at me, and I'm irrationally intimidated by them... by shopping in particular. Elsa will start crying, and people will stare at me and think I'm an AWFUL MOTHER AND MAYBE THEY'LL BE RIGHT. Urgh. Shut up, brain.

Shower now.

Shop boy clothes! I cross the aisle whenever convenient. Which, thanks to a tendency for ruffles and such on even the plainest of t-shirts is rarely, but still. Finn's current sneakers are technically "girl" sneakers. (They are white with a nice light blue trim.)

I couldn't deal with letting the kid cry in the store, so I made it a rule that I would leave if he did. I rarely had to leave, fortunately! Of course, I also signed and sang the alphabet about a bazillion times. (The hand motions kept his attention and he tended to listen to the singing instead of make noise over it.) The signing thing didn't work with Finn, though. *pout*

YES! I do that for Iona. :) :) As long as it's not "utter boy" like "daddy's little boy" printed on the front, it works just as well. However get ready for people to call your daughter "him". >.< hehe.

I am all in favour of ninja baby.
The pastel thing is infuriating.

I'd stress out over that as well (I don't really shop now anyways...:p ), but babies are babies, and they only have a few ways to communicate, it doesn't mean one is a bad mother. If anyone gives you a dirty look sick the Attack Squirrels on them, then they'll have other things to worry about... >:)

I'm right with you on the black baby ninja suits! I wanted one for Sephy too. We should start our own line.

People will look at her and tell her how beautiful she is, well I would.
As I doubt she will be giving a the sort of cry that will make peoplethink you are neglecting her it shouldn't be a problem. Also, if she's in a pram, being pushed along might make her go to sleep.

Honestly, babies cry. If she starts and it's something you can get to right away, don't worry about it. :)

Most of those looks could be from other parents that are actually sympathetically sharing your "pain" in understanding. ;) I know after my first /all/ baby cries drew my maternal attention of "go help"!

It's how you react to the crying that people notice...... But yeah, that first trip is totally scary. Willow loves going to the shop most of the time, so many interesting things to look at but not yet at the I want stage :)
