Help! I've been sucked into a fabulous black hole called 'old backup drive with photos and art...'

I could spend HOURS here, but really must not let myself. (And the unfortunate thing is that I have not yet found one of the files I went hunting for!)

I find myself in a bit of a quandary, because I want to completely redesign the Fantastrix and Dotminatrix covers. Would that be too crazy? They just don't match any of my others. Even with color, they'd have a totally different format than anything else I'm selling right now. And then I wonder - is that BAD? Maybe it's good that my solo books have a bit of a distinct look.

I played with this a bit, and I love how eye-catching these are:

Thoughts? Obviously not entirely tidied up yet.

Got a little writing done this morning, and I'm super excited about some other coloring book things. Laptop is nearly out of juice, switching to art.

I really like these! Especially the way the red fins on the Fantastrix cover jump off the green, and the white title letters on Dotminatrix overlapping the solid background.

Personally, I think it's a very good idea for your solo books to have their own look. The other books are rather eclectic, after all -- they each have a slightly individual style, as opposed to a very unified look. (At least, that's how I remember them.) And I think these look similar enough to be evidently part of the same series, and distinct from the others.

I like the existing covers for your books, and having a distinctive style for them is a fine thing, but the new ones are nifty, too. Difficult decisions!

I really like these.

The red in the first cover gives a lot of focus, and also a nice balance with the lower-saturation green rays leading to the top right corner.

The bright, cheery yellow-family colors in the second cover contrast nicely with the dark blue of the dragon, and also highlight the relationship - cozy and intimate, not menacing. She looks like she's in the dragon's protection, but I also feel she has tamed the beast.
