I am seriously miffed. Mostly because part of the LJ change that I missed while traveling added ADVERTISING to my blog entries for anyone who was not logged in. I paid for a permanent account SPECIFICALLY to make sure that didn't happen. It looks like the import of my entries to dreamwidth was successful - and since I didn't use LJ to host my pictures, it shouldn't look any different here. Oh, userpics are gone, but that's small fry. I am going to continue to crosspost to LJ, but I am not going to be crossposting my LJ to Facebook and Twitter because I have exactly no interest in driving more traffic to LJ - which also means those updates may not happen regularly anymore. I will probably hand-post to Facebook, but I may just say goodbye to Twitter. (It will continue to get business and instagram posts, just no journal entry updates.)

In order to combat my grumpy attitude, I put on a rainbow tutu after my shower, because that's how I roll.

I am making a package of magnets and artbooks to send to 78tarot for goodies, and I've got art and writing to do, in between a walk on the ice crust, and a tea party with the daughter.

So, Dreamwidth can't just crosspost to FB and Twitter? Rats! I was going to figure out how to do that soon.

Can we encourage them to add that functionality?

There's the Suggestion Generator. Things from there are filtered (I think mostly for clarity and whether they've been suggested before) and then posted to dw_suggestions for discussion, and potential promotion to bug tracking database.

Hmmm... I just went to look at the manage other accounts section, and didn't see how to add any new other account besides the LJ one that I already added. Now I'm wondering if free accounts are limited to only one, or if LJ is the only other site supported, or what. Oh, well, I can leave that puzzle to another day!

The extra services faq entry says crossposting is limited to 1, 3, or 5 crossposting sites are supported for free, paid, and premium-paid accounts. Looking at the page to set up crossposting accounts, it looks like only "lj-type" sites are currently supported.

One person I follow is using ifttt.com to crosspost public posts from their RSS feed to facebook & other sites. I haven't investigated it myself yet.
