Several things stewing about in my head today...

Got most of yesterday's list done, except a chapter of php. My initial look at the coding says that this won't be too bad. The book I got is very thorough, and I suspect I'll pick it up quickly.

I also bought a very girly shirt off the clearance rack at Freddy's yesterday. It was only $12 and the sleeves are long enough, so it's a deal! And SO fuzzy! I may go back and get the green one in the same size... if it's still there tomorrow maybe. Leaning towards NOT going into town today. *sniffle*

I've been thinking buckets about a shared world anthology project, but I KNOW I don't need another one.

I haven't gotten a commission statement for the cross stitch designs I licensed out since June. *grump* And I'm not entirely sure I got PAID in June. I will have to check. *checks* Nope, time for prodding letter. Not impressed with this company yet.

And I'm not sure I made a point of this yet, but EMG-Zine is not meant to be any kind of a thumbing of the nose at Epitome - it just moved to that non-monthly format, and I LIKED the monthly format. I want... well, like Amy was saying... a place to come and spend an hour or two every month, kick back, and *enjoy*. Maybe learn something, be entertained, have a variety of new stuff to explore. Not just an article randomly posted once in a while. Plus, the ads do grate on me. Different venues, really.

I've gotten the most beautiful cards this year! I want to thank you guys so much! Mary, Wendy, Deana (popcorn!!! Horrah! Thank you!), Deb, Nicole, Kelly, Pete, Kathy, Jen, April, Heather, Syl, Selina, Carrie, Robin... *huge hugs* Thank you! They *really* brightened my holiday season. :) (If I missed anyone, holler... I sure didn't mean to)

Oh, and I got the funniest question through my contact form: are you products union printed?

I am SO tempted to answer: The elves haven't organized yet. Or maybe:Yes. The EMG Union of Artists local chapter 97, of which I am the only member, prints all of these products.

Of course, it's a pretty crappy union, seeing as I get no benefits and the lousiest pay imaginable!

This post promises to be no less rambly than the last...

Still feeling under-the-weatherly, but better than I was before lunch. The headache has mostly subsided.

I finished up an article for EMG-Zine - still need to work on compiling up some stuff to send out for proofing. And oh, crap, tomorrow's Friday already. I'm so not ready to open submissions to EMG. *sigh*

Giving some thought to the forum organization over there, too. Do folks find it offputting that there are private forums for folks who have contracts on file? Personally, I find it okay - it's a business forum, not a general chit-chat forum, and the private parts are there for a reason - particularly in the case of PA. But I wonder if customers find that weird? Maybe they should be all private? I think that would be weirder. I need to do some major reorganization - there are too many duplicates now that the PA merged with the general EMG, and some of it's got to go. I have enough trouble keeping track of things without two or more questions and problems forums to check.

Got some PA work done, and I'm about to go visit the friendly outhouse and then sit down with some artwork. Real artwork! I haven't done any in DAYS and it's starting to feel weird. Really weird. MUST ART... (*smashes around Godzellen style...*)

Haven't seen King Kong yet, but I really want to! I loved the hokey original version. What can I say, I'm a sucker for cheese and high drama*.

Actually, I'm feeling almost normal right now. Just achey.

Got some art done, plan to go do more in a bit. Got a couple of the static pages for the new PA site done, and eyeballed the code hoping some of it would stick in my brain. Fixed the menus at both PA and EMG. Got some SDs up at PA - need to poke the minions into getting me more images so I can put more up. I just need to do some member artists pages at the new site, and the menu will be functional. Mostly. Submitted descriptions are weird and will require more than I know how to do right now.

Cleaned up my filing cabinets (got the hangers yesterday) and rearranged some files. Have some stuff ready for cold storage - waaaaay old contracts, mostly. Don't feel comfortable tossing them, but really don't need them anymore.

Going to go make dinner and watch a chick flick - Jake comes home late-ish tonight, so I have just enough time.

Utterly useless post. But hey, isn't that what LJ's all about?
