Encounter with an owl.

I just got buzzed by an owl. Came home from the bourough assembly meeting and was fumbling around for my keys (Jake was still there, I gave up after 3.5 hours of waiting...) when a grey bird flew between me and the house. And I was darn close to the house, so it nearly grazed my nose. I am positive it was an owl because it was Completely Silent. Not a sound. If I hadn't glanced up from the keys, I never would have noticed it at all.

How very cool! There are many owls out here in the woods, and I love hearing them hoot. Everytime I actually get to see one, I consider myself blessed. Maybe you've just been given a very special blessing!

Wow, I wonder what it was looking at! We have great horned owls in AZ, they never got that close though.
