Encounter with an owl.

ellenmillionI just got buzzed by an owl. Came home from the bourough assembly meeting and was fumbling around for my keys (Jake was still there, I gave up after 3.5 hours of waiting...) when a grey bird flew between me and the house. And I was darn close to the house, so it nearly grazed my nose. I am positive it was an owl because it was Completely Silent. Not a sound. If I hadn't glanced up from the keys, I never would have noticed it at all.
