Probably won't mean much to you unless you recognize that the Nanook (polar bear) is the UAF mascot, the snakey thing in the left panel is the pipeline (a marvel of engineering), the bridge represents the bridge team and civil engineering, and the constellation in the right panel is the big dipper (which is what is on Alaska's flag). Also, the shield separations are in the exact shape of the steel bracing that this year's steel bridge team used for their bridge. They compete this weekend down in the lower 48 somewhere. Go alma mater!

I like it. The inking is crisp and clean and even if you hadn't posted the explanation I would have recognized what it was about (except the big dipper - probably wouldn't have gotten that). The bear is really well done. It looks very professional. One of the guys at work has a shirt from a recent CSU steel bridge team, but it's really dumb looking with 'steel bridge' in fakey metal riveted letters, badly inked. You can tell they tricked the most artistically inclined engineer among them to draw the logo and that's what they got. This is much better.
