More than I can count...

When I click on to my bookmark for the Lily pad instead of taking me to the sign in, it gave me a pop up asking me if I wanted to download an Application/octet stream. Is that because my contract status thingy ran out or is something else going on?
I don't mind downloading a contract or whatever but I'm not going to click accept if I don't know what it is the site wants me to download.
At the moment Ellen I wish I could get hold of Ebay's managers and point them at you and say, "That's how you handle customer contacts". I couldn't get on to Lilypad? Fine I can speak to you on LJ. You have a webform on your site, but if that doesn't work, hey I could email you! Ebay uk provide one lousy webform with options that never include the one you want, when they email you can't reply you have to go back to the webform, and if the webform breaks Oh vey!
You on the other hand are a shining example even though you have to deal with everything yourself and don't employ a room full of staff to deal (or not with customer support) You rock!

Date: 2006-02-18 09:01 pm (UTC)Well, not the lilypad bit, of course - but I like keeping people happy. :)
Something is bizaar with the whole site right now - I have no idea what's up, but I can't get to any of the site pages, the forum, or the lilypad, though I can access the files via ftp, and have email. None of the non-working pages ask me to download anything, they just say 'done' without actually doing anything. And I can access graphics files directly. So... I'm stumped. I suspect something at the server end and am hoping it just fixes itself rather shortly here... It can't have been down too long because I have an order that was placed about 3 hours ago.

I have Opera on a linux system so it won't automatically download or install anything without my permission. Its one of the things that make linux so resistant to viruses, the can't install themselves without someone to accept them or type in the password for them
