On the topic of politics in my blog... it's not that anyone was out of line, and I'm not mad. I'm just a little shy.

I like to pretend that not too many people are reading what I write, because otherwise I get nervous and overthink everything. Politics seems to bring out a lot of people who may not otherwise comment, and all of sudden I'm on a stage, standing in a spotlight, being grilled* by people who want to know my opinions on things I'm not even all that sure about and the microphone is making that terrible feedback noise and the audience is starting to turn on itself.

I'd make an awful politician - this is the stuff of my nightmares.

*No, nobody did any grilling. I was just... wasn't prepared to be asked, I guess. I'm still sorting out the answers.

Grilling by WWW isn't always quite the fun novelty it's made to be. Specially when you're posting your opinions about something on your own blog.

Also I still like raw, unpolished, non-overthinking Ellen. Reminds me that you're still human instead of the successful, hyperactive, polished, crazy-busy artist/businesswoman/babysitter/gamer/wife/lady that you are ;)

You've put your finger on why I don't broach the subjects of politics, religion, or "issues" in my own blog...

The sheer amount of time it takes to answer the questions raised.

But I like reading your blog.

*chuckle* A woman who has some large numbers of connections and supports and encourages a large number of people with her feedback, inclusion in her projects, and so on, is surprised such people read her LJ? *grin*

While my voting choices differ from some, this need not preclude an interesting conversation about the consequences of some TopPoliticalDog's choices. (Case in point: my husband and I have very dissimilar political preferences, fueled generally by the different priority order and methods we support to enact otherwise roughly similar base values. If we can avoid going into our personal outcomes and sweeping generalities, we can analyze the choice of Palin for hours... [although I hope not for pillow talk again! *laugh*])
