I will continue to do my civic duty as long as my awesome polling place continues to provide lots of baskets of cookies, coffee and tea, popcorn and fudge. I had to wait behind one person, get MOCKED about my married name and there was a free booth when I got my ballot. (I had to reassemble it because the curtain rod fell off while I was getting into it, but hey, I'm an engineer. I can do that.) The machine did not make munchy noises as it took my ballot, so I assume all is fine with it. Mostly I went for the chocolate. And to vote no on the bond issue.

Is the election done yet? IS it?

Your experience with the booth makes me glad for mail-in ballots. Cuz it sounds like something that had it not happened to you would have happened to me.
What's the bond issue?
And why did they MOCK your last name?

The bond issue was for the state to authorize some odd millions of dollars of debt for transportation improvements. I am ALL about transportation improvements, but this was a dumbass way to do it. (Our state is rolling in money right now, there's no reason to incur more debt right now.)

Allen. Ellen Allen. They were mocking how they went together. Friendly, nice mocking, but it involved snickering and saying it out loud.

Ummm...chocolate....we had those fancy machines....have for awhile, but I get nervous that our votes could go kaput and with no paper backup...then what?

Hmmm I never got any munchies when I've gone to vote. It seems there is room for improvement in Denmark. *grin*

Cookies and popcorn and fudge?! You are sooo spoiled! I didn't even get an "I voted" sticker, but my husband, who was an election judge, brought one home for me. :)

I didn't get a curtained booth, so I was a little paranoid as I hit in my votes for certain things.
