Seriously on edge

I am feeling seriously, seriously snarly. Some of it's bad sleep. Some of it's bad news. Some of it's frustration reached boiling point. Some of it's lost data. Some of it's listening to whiners and self-important twits who don't understand what the hell they're talking about.

Trying hard not to make Big Decisions today because at the moment I just want to snark the big snarks and maybe break a plate.

Snark big snarks. Big decisions, as long as they do not involve things like dangling off the edges of cliffs or going to the hospital for the sucking chest wound, will keep just fine.

I think the real question is - how do you stay cool? I can always put more on, but there's a functional limit to taking things off!

Seriously, I have lots of very warm clothing. Our house is 6 inch stud instead of usual mild-climate 4 inch and we have triple pane windows. I just came back in from getting wood for the woodstove, which we only run when it's below 0 (otherwise we have an oil monitor). For outdoors, I have a quilt-lined fox fur hat, an ankle to chin snowsuit (expedition-rated) and military-grade bunny boots (two layers of rubber with insulation in between them - brutally unattractive, but SUPER warm. Jake fell through overflow of a river when it was 30 below and the water that filled up his boots warmed up to body-temperature in a very short time).

Got any icicles you can take a sledgehammer to? Wear goggles. And then have a hot bath, and then make everyone leave you alone until the snark passes off again...

I had one of those days last Wednesday. It was Awful, perhaps more for the MonkeyBoy than for me, although I'm still stewing over it and he's not).
