Business as Usual

Fixed a minor bug at the site that's hardly worth mentioning. (But I feel obligated to because I didn't do much else last night...)

EMG-Zine needs material for November! Our theme is 'Moon' and we're looking for artwork, fiction, poetry and non-fiction. The deadline is October 1.

Art and Authoring

Black fur in watercolor is HARD. This has several layers left to do. Will she make it by Sept 30? Stay tuned to find out!

Home and Health

(Siding still not finished)

I upped my weights at the gym again yesterday. I'm doing almost 4 times what I started at, and my cardio time is twice what it was when we started. I'm finding I'm not winded as much when hiking. My basketball game has not improved at all, alas.

Planning

Painting dark fur in watercolor! Argh! Working today, of course. I have two orders on my desk to work on, and two more all packed up to mail when I get home. And I've got an article to write for EMG-Zine in the next 2 days. Still mulling over the questions you posed: http://ellenmillion.livejournal.com/971469.html (and it's not too late to get one in!)

Linking

I'm not really a webcomic reader... I'm lukewarm on most of them plot- and art-wise, and I haven't got the patience to read one page every week... or month... or year, as most of these projects seem to end up. But Pheonix Requiem blows me out of the water. It's gorgeous, and while I haven't read it all yet, the story so far is fascinating.

Lookin' good! I think Wasp looks sufficiently dark; he's as dark as he needs to be, really. As I said in my other comment, I've never done him as blackety-black-black-black, in part because of the limitations of the media I'm most often using.

I'll have to check out that webcomic. :) I've collected a small set that I keep up with (Girl Genius; Gunnerkrigg Court; The Meek; Kukuburi; The Abominable Charles Christopher; and keep toying with The Celtaed, or whatever its title it); generally the ones I stick with are ones where I'm particularly drawn to both the art and the writing. But MAN, do I HEAR you about the PACE. Nothing kills me, particularly, like discovering a new webcomic, mainlining the archives, and then hitting that wall of having to read onward at One... Page... Per... Week... Aaugh. In a sense, I would almost rather wait for most of them to build up enough to put out a book, and just buy the book. (At least a few have done that; though with some others, you do start to wonder if they'll ever get that far, the rate they're going...)

I wanted to add that I mainlined the Phoenix Requiem archives last night. Stayed up to 2am. *gritty eyes* That's definitely another keeper, although it's going to be painful now to go to a twice-a-week update schedule!

(I like webcomics that update MWF, though I can understand that few of them can keep to such a schedule. I think that once a week is understandable if the person is a pro who is juggling other work. But once a week huuuuuuuurts.)

Isn't it an amazing comic? It's rare to see them so steadily of that quality. I myself will probably not follow it. I can't remember to! I'll just remember it again in 3-4 months and mainline from where I left off. :P I'm just not cut out to be a webcomic reader, I think.

Thank you! :) :)

It's a little ironic to be painting spring when we're just getting into winter, but ah well...

I put in a submission for November a while ago, I really hope it worked and you got it, maybe I'll do it again, so if you get two I'm sorry, and try not to laugh too hard at the girl who has a computer that hates her most of the time:).
