ellenmillion: (stupid people)
Trying desperately to get my ducks in order - show this weekend, Cordova next weekend, calendars and anthology all need to go to the printers THIS MONTH, emergency unexpected big Express order for print services has to go out nownownow, must get new contacts before the end of the month, and Torn World will be gearing up, boss has big presentation tomorrow evening and is already frowning over how much time I'm taking off in general, and the usual PANIC, MAYHEM and DISASTER.

Jake and I decided to buckle down and do the last two windows we were waffling over. It's sort of a now or never thing, and it will be so NICE to have bigger windows in those spots. Plus, they were on sale. So, add that to my 'this month' list.

Instead of doing any of that last night, I decided to stem off nervous breakdown with some art in front of the TV.

She still needs a lot more work and eventually a background, but it's coming along.

It isn't perfect (it NEVER is), but the new design at EMG has spread to the main page, and been polished a little bit futher: http://ellenmilliongraphics.com/

You'll note that I've got a new sale for June, a new issue of EMG-Zine, a GORGEOUS new oracle deck, and a nifty new widget that allows you to easily share your favorite pages via twitter, facebook, myspace and lots of other evil, insidious networking sites. (And also, that there is a link to Torn World, which will start recruiting contributors in just a few weeks. Eek!)

Also, I think Jake and I have decided to put in two more windows. The new ones are just so, so, so much nicer. And once we side the house, we're stuck with what we've got for a good long time, so if we're going to do it, it's now. It means another couple of weeks of window work. But I think it will be worth it. I think so...

I'm confirmed to be a vendor this weekend at the Fairbanks Folk Fest. Hope to see any locals there! I suspect it will be a slow show, but I'm show-rusty, and it will be good to get out and stretch.

Big wholesale boxes out the door, and the rush order from yesterday. Two major printshop orders to ship this week, and one rush ACEO order, and other than what's come in today and things I'm still waiting on t-shirts for, I'm caught up order-wise. Wait! That sounds nothing related to 'caught up.' Hmm.

Okay, now it's time to buckle down and push some engineering reports out.

*buckles*

Urgh.

Feel like ass - would like my lungs to be working properly again, please.

Will be out in the field at Nenana all day again marking manholes. Thrill a minute, I am.

Big changes are coming at EMG. BIG changes. Monumental restructuring of a... um... monumental nature.

I wish I could say more, but the details are all in the air still. I will keep everyone posted.

Did I mention it would be big?

Yesterday I went down to Nenana, met with the mayor and introduced him to an engineer from Anchorage, and then went and did my first post-disaster structural safety inspection. Very exciting (sarcasm). A lot of spiders, and a LOT of mold.

Will be working extra hours the next two weeks, then there will be a bit of a lull for several weeks. I like the sound of a lull.

Headache today. My eyes hurt.

Briefly...

Safely in Anchorage, navigating slushy streets in rental car.

Wireless in hotel, but haven't had time to do any 'work' because I've been busy shopping for books and art supplies, using the workout equipment and taking a long hot bath. Yeah! Did get a few emails answered and a lot of spam deleted. Need to remind myself that it doesn't really COUNT as a vacation if I keep saying yes to special orders like a sucker...

Cell phone had a bad SIM card, they are replacing it via mail and I strongly recommended that they compensate me some free airtime for my trouble. We'll see.

LJ Idol theme this week is 'My scars' and I'm lacking a) a fresh take and b) writing time. May have to take a bye, but hate to use my last one.

ARGH. I have to work this afternoon again, and all day tomorrow, and Wed morning I fly to Anchorage for training on Thurs and Friday and won't be back until Saturday afternoon.

I have SOOOOO much to do, it's absolutely agonizing. I should be grateful the trip to Nenana was canceled.

I have rearranged my desk and gotten rid of one of my older computers and my darling, faithful Epson 1280. (As well as about 12 lbs of dust, fuzzies and cat fur.) Printer 1 is successfully installed on my new laptop, the sound system has been moved into a better position, the widescreen monitor elevated, the CRT relegated to the connex box, the dead scanner is holding a space for a not-dead scanner, and printer 2 is being stubborn and refuses to connect. Argh. But my desk space is INFINITELY more usable now, and I freed up some decent drawing space.

Additionally, I drew! I have art! Art I like! It's a minor miracle. But due to above dead-scanner issue, I can't show it to you until next week.

Artists - I am floundering through EMG pay as quick as I can, sorry for the delay. I'll be taking my laptop to Anchorage to work on it further, but don't know if I'll have Internet. Having to work all day tomorrow is a bit of a speedbump!

Love to all!
