Got through 15 artists at the submissions site, had to write a number of 'sorry but no' letters and got to write up contracts for some really spectacular work. I suppose it balances out, and I'm SUPER grateful to have gotten really nice letters back from some of the folks I had to reject thanking me for the critique. Makes me feel much less mean.
18 artists left to get through... Maybe tomorrow I'll finish! By the end of the week, I hope at least. I want to get back to writing pretty soon here, but this needed to get out of the way.
Sending in paperwork for a Dealer's table at Dragon*Con today. Oy. Scary. Means I'm committed, and after how horribly I was burnt (if ONLY monetarily) trying a Con last time, it's pretty nerve-wracking. I also should have done this weeks ago and hope they still have a table or three left. A six-foot table is pretty teensy for the amount of stuff I have available, but if it goes well I can get an exhibitor booth next year - at $1000 it was a much larger gamble.
Lunchtime... then orders. Maybe no art today - got LOTS of paperwork and orders and emails to do.

Date: 2005-03-07 06:00 pm (UTC)I entered the Balticon a few years ago, out of all my stuff I had slaved over to get done in time only one $15 print sold, the cheapest one. I am happy that at least one thing sold but I hate putting money on something that seems like such a gamble (I am a bit of a tightwad I guess). I got really depressed wandering around the "artists gallery" and seeing the bids on other works of art where mine didn't have any at all, and mine were originals.
I guess I'd rather have something like Elfwood where I get all the opinions but don't have to go through the "If my art is as great as they say then why don't they buy it?" (though I really do love PA, maybe I need to do some scantily clad ladies *heh*) Of course I know what it is like to be on the other side, loving the art but am a tightwad unless I reallyreallyreallyreallyreally can't live without it love it...Argh! Maybe this = "I hate myself"? *rolls eyes*
Darn it Aristata Publishing's Aphrodisia, see what your publicity e-mail has done! GAAA!!
*runs off to finish reading a book and then to hopefully finish a PA work*
