Reading confession

I have a confession to make.

I joined this book club, see, and I had to order these books (real books. Valid books. Really.), and I was browsing to see what else the seller had in stock, to combine shipping... and I ordered the entire series of the Belgariad.

The first one (Pawn of Prophecy) came all by itself in the mail and was promptly devoured. The rant about how the really IMPORTANT part of the order wasn't shipped for weeks after my order was placed and is coming media mail and I won't see any of it for months is a another topic entirely.

It is not better than I remember it being, and it is not as terrible as I expected it to be. It is comfortable. And unbelievably obvious. Did I miss the blinking signposts the first time I read it? It was too long ago - I don't remember, but wow... was it ever a mystery who poor clueless little Garion was?

Anyway, it was fluffy and fast-paced and cute and I enjoyed it enormously. I can't wait until the rest get here.

I shall say my hail marys with contrition and read something very dry and deep in penance.
